Re: pH down chemicals



Todd,

Im assuming you have a heavily planted tank? The increase in pH when the 
lights are on is a typical occurrence for a tank in which the demand for 
CO2 from the plants exceeds the supply. In this case, the best strategy 
for stabilizing your pH and CO2 is to increase the supply of CO2. IMHO 
you should NOT mess with pH down products as all you will be doing is 
treating the effects of the problem and not the problem itself (and also 
likely stressing and maybe even killing your fish). Your pH and hardness 
etc. are absolutely fine for growing aquatic plants.
