driftwood...



Hi folks..

I have been thinking about this driftwood problem...and could it be that the 
tannins from the driftwood have a buffering capacity???  Has anyone examined 
this before...when a number of people observe the same results it makes you 
wonder.  Also on the flip side...since I would think that the driftwood 
would normally lower the pH or the tank...perhaps the wood is doing 
something to the CO2 buffering system of the water...if there was any in 
place initially...just some thoughts
