I have used gelatin capsules available from Pharmaceutical Suppliers
without problems.Fill them with your 'mixture' {I use predominantly
slow-release-type granules;composition varies for different plants}
Just make sure your hand is dry or it will be nigh impossible;a pair of forceps
helps if you use granules.
Slow release fertilisers have been used successfully by commercial growers to
provide an early 'hit' in new plantings{sprinkling 1/3 down from gravel surface}
