I agree that Malaysian snails do not eat most plants and can do a fine job of cleaning the substrate, but when you have hundreds of those critters climbing all over your tank, fowling your filters, and generally looking like an army ready to attack...well it was time to bring in the loaches and get rid of them. It took two loaches about three weeks to eliminate them. John
