Cold Weather Shipping

I agree with Karen Randall concerning cold weather
shipping of plants. In addition to the precautions
she suggests, the small heat pacs sold as hand-warmers
and used by wholesale fish farmers might be considered
depending on the size of the carton and the value of
the shipment. Many times I have received shipments
during extremely cold weather, and the heat pacs have
saved the box and alot of heartache.

The heatpacs are readily available at sporting goods stores,
hardware stores and most large multiline stores like Fleet-
Farm and Menards. The cost is minimal....maybe 75 cents.

Do be careful with the placement of the pac so that it does
not come in direct contact with the bag or bags and over heat
the contents you are trying to ship.

Karl.
