     Since this seems to be reported only with yeast CO2 generators, it may 
     be relevant that the yeast produce more by-products than just CO2. A 
     variety of other volatile compounds -- alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, 
     esters -- are produced, and these may be supporting the growth of some 
     microorganism in the reactor.
