John, Your bleaching solution for removing red algae sounds like a lot of work & more a cure for your problems than a prevention of it (I doubt whether you'll be able to remove every single algae spore). How about trying something like changing your light and/or nutrient levels to try to encourage the plants to outcompete the algae? Or just get more algae eaters. Joanne.
