...I'm decided to not do this because my (and my family's) eyes CAN clearly
discern between "yellow-green" (pH >= 6.4) vs "some shade of green" (pH < 6.4).

And FWIW thus I'm going to "engineer" a double dropchecker setup like so...

 Target: 35 ppm CO2 +/- 5ppm
 
 Low-range Dropchecker:
   3.0 dKH...
    green < 35 ppm
    yellow-green >= 35 ppm
 
 High-range Dropchecker:
   3.4 dKH...
    green < 40 ppm
    yellow-green >= 40 ppm
 
 Usage:
   low-range green, high-range green ... < 35 & < 25 ergo... < 35 ...  INCREASE co2
   low-range yellow-green, high-range green ... >= 35 & < 40 ergo... ~ 35 ...  OKAY co2
   low-range yellow-green, high-range yellow-green ... >= 35 & >= 40 ergo... > 35 ...  DECREASE co2
