Vals and anacharis are reputed to be weakened or killed by Excel; possibly 
riccia and some mosses are also.

Overdosing, often used for algae control, might exaccerbate the problem, if 
there is one.

This is all anedcotal; I know of no scientific studies.

Excel is still a very good carbon supplement.
