Re: [APD] Aquatic-Plants Digest, Vol 57, Issue 17

When I had a 55 gallon up, and running with saltwater. I had a wooden hood
with 2 metal halides, and 2 VHO 4' Flouressent tubes in it. It got very hot!
So, I cut a hole in one end of the hood, and added a cooling fan from Radio
Shack inside the hood, rigged go on, & off with the lights. worked like a
charm! In the winter it also cut down on my heating bill too!

I also have a few nano tanks, few 10 gallons, and a 20 gallon so far. I
bought a chrome adjustable 5 shelf, 6' tall X 4' wide X 18" deep Bakers rack
from Target to hold them all. The Bakers rack retails for about $60.00, and
can hold about 250 lbs per shelf.
I put the tanks on one shelf, and I can place 2 shop lights w/ timers
comfortably between the rack's support posts on one rack, to shine through
that rack to the tanks on the rack just below it. it works great!
The shelves can be adjusted in 1" increments, completely disassembles for
moving, or storage in minutes. Excellent Quality, and very sturdy with screw
in/out adjustable leveling feet. A very good investment! Makes a real nice
nano tank display too. Comes in black, or chrome. There is a 4 shelf model
also, that's smaller, but not built with the same quality.
