Actually, the koi are in a 300 gallon indoor tank, no heater.  I had three placos here outside in  a 8' diameter kiddie pool.  Grew from about 1.5" to about 8" over the summer, then promptly died when it got cold.  I had not seen them in a couple of months, so I thought they were already dead.  Bummer.  In Florida, you see them get huge in the scattered ponds all over Tampa (Seffner) where I used to live.  Easily over a foot long and then some.  I will not keep plecos in a planted tank, too much damage.  But maybe they should get another 5 or 6 in the 300 with the 11 koi...
