Re: [APD] Clown loaches Plant Safe?

The punch holes in swords from time to time-- Karen Randall pinted this out to me one day -- I'm not sure why the clowns do this since they don't seem to eat plants at all. They generally don't bother anyone. They are somewhat territorial with each other, but not to the extent that it comes to blows and not so much as yoyo loaches. They establish a pecking order and once that's done, they often settle into groups, swimming and resting together.

Probably doesn't need to be said but, because they normally get quite large, they need lots of room and, being loaches, lots of places to hide. They do better in groups and I wouldn't put them in any tank smaller than a 75 or 90 gallon. Maybe a 55 gallon but I hate the shape of those tanks.

For smaller tanks, I'd stick with the dwarf loaches.

Subject: [APD] Clown loaches Plant Safe?

What has been peoples experience keeping Clown Loaches in their planted
tanks. Have they been model citizens and 100% plant friendly?

Regards,

Jim
