Re: [APD] Disposing of unwanted fish

Is the fish in question diseased, fatally injured or otherwise
terminally injured that euthanasia is being considered? If not then I
doubt any pet/fish store would turn it down, they may even give you some
store credit for it.

As to how to kill a fish painlessly the method I've had to use a couple
times on terminally diseased fish is to place them on a hard surface and
inflict a sharp hard blow to the head with a hard object.

Subject: [APD] Disposing of unwanted fish

Since there isn't a lot of plant talk here, how about a fish question?

What is the best way to dispose of an unwanted fish? Putting it in the
freezer is out, because that is painful, plus someone searching for a
snack might accidentally eat it. Putting it in a glass of alcohol or
other chemical is also probably painful, and there is the disposal
problem which concerns some people.

I have a few methods in mind which are humane but some might think them
gross.

What do you think?

Bill
