Oh yes, indeed. And few of the larger cichlids will do a terrible number to the mop! But teh worst is probably the hag fish. The Not only is the a poor method of capture, but it's positively useless for anything else afterwards. Well, you *could* still use it but who would want to.
I suspect this is a primary the reason more hag fish are not seen the hobby -- that plus the fact that like to hide.

I have found that the mop is a little tough on the big cichlids..........but
a large enough shop vac is fine. I have not been able to find a shop vac
for the pond koi yet however. The search continues.......lol
