I our area, the deer and rabbits are quite picky about what they will eat. For one example, the deer prefer above all other things the fresh new shoots from all the bulbs my wife planted.

If the lack of humidity won't kill it, the local deer and rabbits will 
eat it for sure. Just the same, no need to take chances. This is new to 
me as a potential problem.
