[APD] Red Tiger Lotus (Nymphaea zenkeri)

Hi,
 
I purchased a Red Tiger Lotus, (Nymphaea zenkeri) last week. The plant had
leaves which were about 8 inches in height. The new growth has shot up to
about 18 inches in the last few days!
 
Are there any tricks to keeping the height down? or is this plant going to
go all the way to the top like a waterlilly??
