Re: [APD] kleinar bar

Of course, this is all subject to my memory and Christel shouldn't be held accountable for any mistakes I bring to this. sh----- Original Message ----From: S. The samples she was familair with in Europe we small plants that stayed small. She took one look at nursery specimen laebeled "Kleiner BÃr" in a plastic bag at one of the AGA auctions and said without pause, "That cannot be Kleiner BÃr; it's too big. Kleiner BÃr is a small plant." But she did not know what particular hybrid it was.
Most red sword leaves get green if they hang around long enough, especially those decended from E. horemanni 'red' and E. x barthii and similar species.
There are so many Echinodorus hybrids floating around, it would be easy for this to be a diff hybrid altogether or a variant of the original Kleiner Bar.It certainly doesn't warrant its name. ;-)
Anyway, whatever it is, it's missing one of the key virtues of the original Kleiner Bar, namely being a small red sword. Maybe we should start calling it groà kleiner BÃr. But it's still a very nice sword.
