Re: [APD] Calcium Nitrate

Sean

Here are solubilities I looked up in the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and
Physics:

Calcium Nitrate Ca(NO3)2 121.2 gm/100 cc H2O @ 18 C

Calcium Nitrate, tetrahydrate Ca(NO3)2-4H2O 266 gm/100 cc H2O @ 0C

Calcium Nitrate, trihydrate Ca(NO3)2-3H2O Insoluble in water

Calcium Carbonate CaCO3 0.0014 gm/100 cc @ 25 C

Calcium Carbonate, hexahydrate CaCO3-6H2O Insoluble in water

I haven't used calcium nitrate in my tanks but I have used it to mix up
fertilizer for my cactus. As the solubilities show above it will be orders
of magnitude more soluble than carbonate.
