[APD] butternut squash

Hello, I was at a presention where a gentleman mentioned that he 
fed his fish butternut squash for coloring.  How should I present it to 
the fish:  ie. blanch and let loose in the tank, attach to lettuce clip, 
attach to piece of wood?  Thanks, Ray
