More info would be helpful but I'm already seeing some problems here. In fact, you 
said it yourself. "She's not much of a fish enthusiast." This is compounded by the 
observation that she suffers from short term memory loss and possible delusions - 
Wilfred Brimley indeed! And finally, the real clincher - "She's always saying I spend 
too much time and money on the fish."

The remedy is simple yet severe - Get rid of the girlfriend.
