Re: [APD] I give up (BBA)

Hello,

I suggest that you do three things.

First, dip everything that can be safely dipped into a 5% solution of bleach
for about 3 minutes. "Safely bleachable" means all stones and wood, plus
such plants as anubias and a few others. Rinse thoroughly.

Second, remove the most heavily infected leaves from the other plants.

Third, overdose Excel.  I've used about 2 tsp. in a 20 gallon with success;
try about 5.5 or 6 tsp. in your 55. Continue for about a week or 10 days.
There is an algicide in Excel, plus it will help the other plants.

My experience is that BBA eventually comes back in my non-CO2 tank, but if
it attacked vigorously when it first appears it won't be much of a problem.

Good luck!

Bill
