I'm not sure what plant you actually have, but the ones
that I've seen vended as Brazilian swords (SPATHIPHYLLUM
TASSON) are bog plants that don't accept being treated as
aquatic -- they  generally slowly die when submerged.

You'll have better luck with one of the Echinodorus species
such as bleheri (a.k.a. Amazon sword)
