Nothing, in principle says that only Homo sapiens are
logically possible of accomlishing such a feat, even if, as
a matter fact, that's how it turned out so far on this
planet.

I think this distinction lends too little credit to the
organic diversity that Mother Nature can apply to
functional processes. There's more than one way to skin a
cat and humans, at least from a logical point of view,
could well be only one skinning.
