I assume you are bring up that "Corn" is the term in the
trades used to refer to those bits, nubs, and bumps of
sanded material that build up on the sandpaper during use.

"Open" and zinc stearate treated sanding material resists
developing corns, making it much luckier than my Aunt
Harriet.
