what about the needle valve. i put that into ebay and got like... pilot light gas valves and i cant tell one form the other they amazingly look alot alike.

A solenoid can be useful if you want to save CO2 by shutting it off at 
night. Otherwise, it's not necessary. Many people just set up a bubble 
rate that gets them to the level they want and just leave it there.
