It grows well in an aquarium, but it does get rather large for most 
tanks.  It needs adequate space above the tank, good light and water 
temp around 75-80F, it is also a heavy feeder.  If the water is warm it 
can take cool air temperatures; I have grown it in my basement in the 
winter where the air temp drops to 58F.
