[APD] snails and loaches

No question that the clown loaches will eliminate the snails. 
but they might go after other invertibrates in the tank!!
 
if you are planning on having some Amano shrimp i would stay away from the  
clown loaches.
 
A couple of them though would be a lot cheaper than replacing the substrate  
and unless i was using the tank for discus, would go that route.
 
BTW Both Red Ramshorn and Nerite snails do not harm plants and do not  
reproduce under normal aquarium conditions. Check out Wilma's Home on the Web  for
