[APD] metal halides for plants

Hi all,
 
What is the best colour temp for growing plants with metal halide bulbs?  
Is 6500 K sufficient?  Any other suggestions as to particular lighting 
types aside from fluorescent (not compact fluor either)?  Always looking 
for something "sparkly" and somewhat natural to display the fish as well 
as possible.
