I used to bleach lants till I finally did what Tom Barr suggested
and now all my algae is gone and I only use bleach to clean 
filters.

I would suggest if you feel the need to bleach plants then
fertilize them daily and add flourish excel in a double
dose and you should have no alage in 3-4 days.

(As a side notice I've used up every drop of Excel
in a 100 mi radius. Road trip!)
