Re: [APD] External co2 Reactors/Flow Reduction

Hi RJ,

So you were using a noisy powerhead...
Have you considered running your external reactor with a different powerhead?
I am using a powerhead to feed my external CO2 reactor (Tom Barr's old model). A Rio 800 that came with it became so noisy with a slight amount of a head pressure that I replaced it with a small Via Aqua pump. It's been running well and "silently" for a year and a half now. The only annoying thing about it is that I have to spank it a few times after I do a water change. It appears to become air locked while exposed to air. Despite the abuse I give, it's been a great help to me. It's a lot cheaper than upgrading your canister filter.
