You can view the 2 gar I had in a 75 gal.
They are about 12"

Do not feed them as much, 2x a week is fine if you want to keep them relatively small.
Red tail cats, shovel noses, aro's etc all get perhaps "too big" for tanks.

A 180 gal 700L tank is okay, better to have a 240-300 though.

*If you do not stuff the fish, they will take a long time to outgrow the tank* perhaps 5-10years, depends.
