[APD] Re: Those brilliant reds




Indeed, I think there is a relation with low NO3 but I am not a scientists
that can tell you why.
One of my first PMDD tanks had some Hygrophyla in it. It was growing like a
weed and nice fresh green.
As the tank matured and the leaves got closer to the surface, the leaves
started to turn olive and eventually red/pinkish. A week later the whole
buch crashed and bluegreens were sliming their way in. Increased NO3 dosing
fixed the whole issue.
My red tiger Lotus is much, much more intense red when low on NO3.
