RE: [APD] Hydrogen Peroxide

Hi,

I am having Hair Algae with java moss mixed. Can I use your Idea on this?

Will java moss be affected with H2O2 ?

Subject: [APD] Hydrogen Peroxide

Although I have been squirting Hydrogen Peroxide, H2O2, on tufts of black
beard algae for some time, I've found a much more effective way of applying
it -- at
least for those objects which protrude above the water line, during water
changes. In my case, it has seemed most persistent on driftwood and a piece
of petrified wood.

After the water has been drawn down to the 50% level, I use a pastry brush
to "paint" H2O2 liberally on the exposed surfaces. After a few minutes, I
refill the tank. After a day or so, the algae has turned ashy colored with
pinkish "roots," where it is attached. (Is that why it is a red algae?) In
another few days, it has disappeared.

If it comes back, this is an easy procedure to repeat.
