I have the 96W AHSupply CF lamps/reflectors about 4" over my 90 
without any cover glass. They stay very dry from their own heat 
inside an enclosed hood. There is a convection airflow route 
through the hood, so maybe that helps. A little Windex now and 
then keeps things clean enough. I always thought cover glasses 
were a PITA anyway so it depends on personal preference.
