Thre's a nice breakdown on fan data here for a wide variety
of products:


Nothing comes close to what Silenx professes. At 1200 RPM,
the 11 dbA is not beyond the range of expectations, but for
a 4 1.2" fan to move 40 cfm at 120 rpm is just incredible.

Most of the noise in a small fan is from the air noise at
the blade tips. The more air you move, the more noise the
air makes.

The Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies will feature Christel, author of _Aquarium Plants_, among its speakers at its 30th Annual Convention. It's the longest running consecutive general tropical fish convention in the country and one of the most fun to attend.
