RE: [APD] Compact Question

Well, that makes a lot more sense and it's a common
restriction. The inexpensive electronic ballasts in those
substitute-for-incandescent compacts often do not have the
circuitry necessary to keep the filaments from breaking
quickly when operated under dimming conditions.

Even with ballasts and dimmers made to match to operate
fluorescents at dim conditons, the bulb life is
substantially shortened the more time, and the dimmer that
the bulb is operated.

The AGA Convention has SOLD OUT of rooms at the special discount rate.

Contact hotel directly (703)920-3230 for other hotel discounts possibly available -- ask for the "leisure rate" of $119 per night. The generic reservation line may not offer the "leisure rate."

For alternative hotel info see

Capacity for the Field Trip was doubled and is likely to sell out soon.

The $59 registration rate increases on October 28th to $79.
