Oops, incomplete answer. I should have said I use CaCO3 and MGSO4 2:1 by volume (I use 1T CaCO3 and 1/2T MgSO4) to raise my GH from 1.5 to 5. There's a thread about this from about 6 months to a year ago which has the data I used to decide on that ratio.
