RE: [plant_list] [APD] halogen lighting for aquarium



They burn a little hotter than standard incandescents so
they put out a little more in the higher energy, blue end
of the spectrum and seem a bit whiter than standard
incandescents which are heavily on the red end compared to
fluorescents and Metal Halides.

Perhaps you are thinking of some of the arc bulbs, like the
sodiums, which are way over on the yellow part of the
spectrum. som metal halides have a yellowish cast that
increases with the use of the bulb.
