[APD] RE: Driftwood wants to float

You can attach the driftwood to a piece of glass, or a piece of slate. Or,
you can soak it and wait for it to waterlog, which is what I'm in the midst
of doing. But, trust me, it takes quite a while (I'm moving beyond two
months now). Although, I've heard from some people that it only takes a few
weeks. I'm sure it depends on thinckness of the wood, and perhaps how dry
it is before you soak it.

Oh, and don't forget to boil it before you use it. This kills bacteria, but
also helps leach out the tanins and lignins. YOu'd be surprised what comes
out...

Please advise me on techniques to prevent a purchased piece of driftwood
from floating. How did you get driftwood to stay submerged?
Thanks for your help.
Randy
