less emphasis on plants, try Fintastic on South Blvd in Charlotte.

Also check out Triangle Tropical Fish in Durham NC.  There is also Fish
World and Fish Pros in Raleigh.  Triangle Tropical Fish was my favorite
when I lived in NC.

You'll find a store called Aquamain in Greensboro.  I live an hour away
in Virginia and have never bothered to learn the street names ... but
they have a web site that google can find.  They have 6 plant tanks.
Lots of salt and fresh water fishies.  Quantity and quality varies from
visit to visit - which for me is once every 6-12 weeks.
