[APD] Moving several large tanks

I'm moving to a new house, and I've got a 540l and a 300 liter tank that needs to be transported to the new house. It's not so far, only about 10 minutes by car. Any ideas on how to do this as easy as possible? Do I need to remove all the gravel, as well as all the water? It's ALOT of gravel to scoop up and put into buckets... Also, do I need to take some precautions when I drain the tank, such as doing it slowly to let the glass adjust to the new stresslevels?
