[APD] Re: E. azurea advice needed

Shireen,
I just got a couple stems of this from a fellow list member. I have it in a
CO2 injected 240 gallon tank with four 175 watt 6500K metal halide bulbs. It
is growing very well. The stem has doubled in size in two weeks. The list
member that gave me this said to_never_ let it break the water surface
before you trim it. He said it turns into a hyacinth looking thing and never
gets the nice palm tree shape it has before it grows out of the water. If
you cut and replant the tops the bottom piece will sprout again, if you want
to propagate it.

The bright green color of the leaves gives me the impression it would do
well in a hi-light tank.

Dave
