[APD] The all pervading algae

There was a news report in recent "The Times of India"(Date-31.3.2004) as
follows :-

"Two polar bears in Singapore zoo have turned green as a result of algae
growing in their hair. The usually white coats of Sheba and her 13 year-old
son Inuka have changed colour due to the growth in their hollow hair shafts,
says a zoo spokesman. The harmless algae is the result of
Singapore's s warm humid tropical conditions.
While Shebas coat was bleached with hydrogen peroxide,
two weeks ago, Inuka will be given a similar treatment in three
weeks time. Meanwhile Inuka remains mottled with grass-colored
splotches on his ears, back and legs".
