If you read his last message you will find that indeed he isnt using a skimmer 
box. You were right. I think he has some good ideas on how to fix the problems 
though. Lowering the CO2 and lights could help, but if his tank is thriving 
the way it is... I wouldnt touch it (good ol "if it ain't broke don't fix 
it").  I think he has a good handle on things now.
