[APD] Plants and Water pH

Hello,

I have 20 gallon freshwater tank with a pH of about
5.5, and I have some Moneywort, Wisteria, and Water
Sprite in my tank. Do you think these plants can
survive under this pH? 

I was also thinking about increasing the pH to 7 using
pH increaser chemicals but that doesn't seem to work
very well mainly because my tap water has a pH of
around 5 and every time I change water I end up just
putting more acidic water back into the tank. What's a
good way to increase the pH and stablize it around 7?
