[APD] A nasty shock

I just tried to work out how much my Amazonian biotope is going to cost. 
Is this normal for a 30g?
Cost Breakdown:
Tank						£42.00
Equipment					£97.08
Treatments (including ferts)		£39.22
Fish food					£10.73
Fish						£25.25
Decoration (bogwood + gravel)		£40.00
Green Line Aquatic Plants		£25.75
birstall.co.uk (more plants)		£17.50

This adds up to about £300!
I'm not sure my Mum is going to agree to that...
