RE: [APD] I dosed too much KH2PO4...consequences?? URGENT

Thx Rex.
I figured more water changes would be in order but was hoping that perhaps
not. I have just completed another 50% change. As I was dosing 1/8th tsp x 2
weekly and this time I basically dosed 6/8th and have now done another 50%
change would that not reduce my level to about 3/8th tsp or just 1/8th more
that I was dosing anyway. I'll do another 50% change tomorrow if I have to.

At 01:25 PM 12/11/2003, you wrote:

IMHO you need to do a couple of large water changes. You have gotten your
phosphate level about 6x to high. Depending on your other tank parameters
this could lead to a massive algae outbreak. It's one reason I dose
phosphates as a solution and not dry. And why on everything I dose dry I
have the amounts listed on the jar for each tank.

I'm following advice given to me by Tom Barr and dry dosing my 77g tank.
I
just did a 50% water change and while adding nutrients I mistakenly
added
3/4 tsp of potassium phosphate instead of the recommended 1/8 ths. Is
this
going to cause me major problems?. Will it harm my fish?. Should I do
    another water change?

    Thx. Rick
