Re: [APD] Plexiglas verses Polycast?

There are two basic types of processes for produce
plexiglass/acrylic sheets, cast and extrusion. Cast is
supposed to be better and generally is more expensive. I
believe it has less distortion and is stornger.

Plexiglass is a brand name for acrylic and lots of other
folks make acrylic sheets now. There are all kinds of ways
to change this or that inthe formulas and change the
properties. One is to a dd a lot of polycarbonate -- the
material then has extraordinary tensile strength. You can
take a piece and hold it between two sets of pliers and
bend it all the way back on itself and it won't crack!

Sometimes you can find the specs from the manufacturer if
they have a web site.
