[APD] Marine planted tank pictures coming
I must say, the Marine tank has really bloomed.
It takes a long time to get the rocks covered but once they do, the plants take off.
I think most of you will not believe that this is a marine planted tank, they are no other organisms except plants in this layout.
The design is more suited to keeping numerous species in a somewhat decent layout.
Some very nice plants that you will not see often:
Dasya, the long furry red algae
Heterosiphonia, little red balls of fine divided/furry puff balls
Neogoniolithon, red coral like algae
Neomeris, green "fingers"
Batophora
Dasycladus, "furry sauages"
Lobophora
Anadyomene
Caulerpa's:
paspaliodes variety: fine leaf
" " : "Giant" Caulpera
These are both very neat looking.
cupessoides
prolifera
lanuginosa
raceamosa
verticillata
Udotea,
Avrainvillea
Dictyota
Sargassum
Dygenia
Chondria
Ball forming Algae, I have two of Cladophoropis(These are lighter color than Caldophora balls in FW and more course filaments, like a fiber scrub brush).
Acanthophora
Laurencia(2 ssp)
Cymopolia
Actetabularia
Padina
Eucheuma
Gracilaria
Rhipocephelus
Penicillus 2 species
Halimeda 2 species
Champia
Ceramium
Wrangelia
Hypnea
Botryocladia
Jania
There are more, but this is a partial list of the fun stuff.
I need more light I think to keep it in real good shape.
I like the design, it rivals reef tanks very well and I've never seen anything even close to this anywhere.
Maybe I'll put it in the AGA/ADA contest next.
I'm curious as to Amano's views about this tank style/method.
Regards,
Tom Barr
