Does siderophore-producing bacteria live in those wet/dry's too? I just
stumbled over this:
http://www.engineering.ucsb.edu/Announce/siderophores.html

Fe(III)+siderphore+light => Fe(II)+oxidized siderophore

But those bacteria are perhaps only living in marine environment?

Would pulsing the iron level between immesurable to perfect
trigger those bacteria to produce those siderophores in an
freshwater planted aquarium (if they exist in freshwater that is)?
